Jennifer Allim, Associate

Jennifer received her undergraduate degree from St. John's University cum laude and her Juris Doctor from St. John's University School of Law, with Dean's List recognition in all years. She served as: a Staff Member of the University’s Journal of Civil Rights and Economic Development; a judicial intern to the Honorable Sandra J. Feuerstein of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York; a research and litigation assistant for the director of clinical education in civil rights and labor and employment law litigation; and a legal advocate at the New York Civil Liberties Union.  

Jennifer received numerous awards in law school. She received CALI Awards for achieving the highest grade in the following courses:  Legal Research and Writing; Contracts; Federal Civil Procedure and Trusts and Estates.  She also received a Pro Bono Service Award for her dedication to representing low income litigants through various non-profit organizations.


Jennifer’s practice involves the representation of clients in complex commercial and business disputes.  She also has extensive experience representing clients in bankruptcy-related litigation.

Jennifer is a key member of the firm’s team that represents defrauded customers of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC (“BLMIS”) and she has been actively involved in the defense of innocent BLMIS customers whom the BLMIS Trustee has sued on the theory that BLMIS was a Ponzi scheme and that, therefore, customers are not entitled to keep withdrawals they lawfully took from their accounts.   

Prior to joining Chaitman LLP, Jennifer represented clients in federal and state courts, mediations, and arbitrations involving a wide range of disputes, including breach of contract claims, business and partnership disputes, litigation involving real property and foreclosure defense, insurance coverage issues, civil rights violations, and matrimonial and custodial matters. 

Jennifer is an active member of the New York State Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association and the Queens County Bar Association. She continues to offer assistance to pro se litigants through various non-profit organizations.
